Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and may close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home that has a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence earnings will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their 2025 nsfas application South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying or intend to research in a general public nsfas 2025 university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
